We have the old 1D scanners, but we also have the newest, blah. our hand scanner to the finger.

Handheld is available as a wireless or wired PC or other equipment. Wireless can be RF - own radio frequency, Bluetooth, Zigbee, etc. The wireless usually have a base unit (cradle) connected to the PC or other device and is also charging unit to the handheld scanner. Some scanners have built-in memory for many measurements and can therefore be used outside the radio coverage of the base. When the scanner is placed in the base unit or is within the radio coverage, the scanned data is transferred to the PC. Some scanners can be used only if the one in radio coverage of the base.

Laser / LED barcode scanner: There are two basic versions. One is with a laser beam (or LED) having a certain frequency, sent from the laser toward the bar code. By means of mirrors, the reflected laser light is sent to a photodiode in læserer. The barcode is read converted and sent to the PC. Scanner with laser light is 1D (barcode) and can often be used where there is a lot of ambient light.

CCD scanner: Is fitted with a small camera as a reader. It can read 2D and 1D images (QR codes, etc.).
There are pros and cons of scanners with CCD. One advantage is that it can be read 1D, 2D codes, regardless of how the scanner is rotated. It can also read bar codes that are slightly curled. The downside is that CCD scanner may have difficulty reading glossy and highly light-reflective barcodes. CCD scanner is more robust. The slightly more expensive CCD scanners have a faster processor and better detekteringssoftware.
We can help with advice and guidance.

 • RFID 125kHz EM standard
 • Mifare RFID 13,56MHz

Mifare 13.56 MHz RFID technology and main variants

The Mifare standard for RFID was originally defined by Philips in 1994 for use in non-contact electronic ticketing and was later described in the ISO / IEC 14443A standard for 13 , 56 MHz non-contact smart cards. Therefore, there is no emphasis on large reading distance, which is typically up to 8 cm using common tags and readers. Mifare is used eg. in the travel card in Denmark. Mifare tags, like tags for the EM standard for 125 KHz, have a unique ID (UID) - but also have built-in memory that is stored in "sectors" in the tag.

Mifare technology available in several variants. Mifare Classic is provided with 1k or 4k memory organized in sectors. Mifare UltraLight has 512 bytes of memory in sectors - but otherwise works as Mifare Classic. MIfare PRO Works as a "smart card" with CPU and the ability to insert an operating system into the tag, so it's probably the most flexible of the Mifare technologies. In addition, there is a dedicated processor built-in for DES encryption to allow data to be secured against unwanted access.

Mifare DESFire supports AES encryption as well as DES and 3DES encryption when accessing sector data in the tag. Therefore, data with very high security can be protected against unwanted reading and copying. Works as a "smart card" with cpu and operating system built into a PROM area in the tag optimized for fast reading of data. Can use UID of up to 64 bits.
