M-Bus ( "Meter-Bus") is a European standard for remote reading of gas meters, heat meters and other electricity meters. This bus meets the special requirements for remote or battery-powered systems, including consumption device sensors, various sensors and actuators. When incorporated into a network system, supplying the meters the measured data to a common MASTER, for example, can be a PLC, PC or handheld computer connected periodically to read all building meters. An alternative method to collect data centrally is to transmit meter readings via a modem.
M485-MBUS-MASTER-I is specially designed to convert 2-wire M-Bus bus, connected to the meters to a serial port (COM port).
