USB to serial converters are ideal for use where serial ports are not available, such as newer laptops and desktops / servers. This could be a significant saving compared to having to convert RS485 systems to USB. All models come with loose or mounted USB cable. The converters support both Open Host Controller Interface (OHCI) and UHCI (Universal Host Controller Interface) and some models have optical isolation up to 2000V (see chart). Maximum speed up to 921.6 Kbit/s on the RS422/485 port
